In environmental matters, 2023 has been a very significant year for us, as we have continued to support projects aimed at protecting the environment and reducing our environmental footprint, with an investment that grew by 128.45%, to more than 208,000 million euros.
This increase in sustainable project investment has been crucial in raising the amount of recycled plastic used in the company’s packaging (such as tubs, bottles, and buckets) to 266,650 kg (34.1% more than in 2022).
We have also reduced carbon emissions (tCO2eq) from natural gas and electricity consumption by 8.17%, thanks especially to the installation of solar panels at the Choví Logistics platform, which has prevented the emission of more than 97,000 kg of CO² per year.
Our efforts to improve the impact on customers and the environment have been recognized with the IFS Logistics Certification at the Massalavés platform (Valencia), one of the most prestigious and highly regarded certifications in the food sector.
Additionally, in 2023 we continued to support the community and society through product and monetary donations (amounting to more than 133,000 euros) aimed at people at risk of social exclusion.
Market Consolidation
The 2023 Sustainability Report also reflects our consolidation in the sauces sector and the increase in market share. In this regard, the overall satisfaction level of our customers in 2023 reached 8.63 — the highest to date — highlighting us as a trustworthy, popular, recognized, and professional company. The short- and medium-term purchase intention was 86% in 2023, also improving the well-known Net Promoter Score (NPS), which measures customer loyalty to the brand, with a score of 55.1 points, 7 points higher than in 2022.
It is also especially noteworthy that the attribute "sustainable" was mentioned by 22% of customers, thus recognizing Choví's commitment to sustainable and responsible development with the environment and the community.
Regarding the team, the workforce stood at 217 professionals, with 54% being women and 84% of employees having a permanent and stable contract.
